Our Missionaries
We are privileged to have a part in several missions and ministries in our own area and across the world.
Our primary missionary partners are Hrvoje and Petra Malovic, who serve with Campus Crusade for Christ in Croatia. Our partnership includes a larger financial commitment as a church, coordinating prayer events with outreach events in Croatia, and maximizing personal involvement through private financial support and short-term missions.
It was our great privilege in 2010 to send out one of our own, Ed Jaeger, to a challenging mission field in Tajikistan. Ed and his wife Belle were retired missionaries to Iran and were an active part of our church until Belle's death in 2009. And now Ed has returned to the Middle East and has a remarkable teaching ministry. Read more about their amazing lives and ongoing story here, here, here, and here.
Steve and Ruth Porter are medical missionaries with SIM International in Nigeria, an increasingly dangerous mission field. Steve and Ruth have two grown sons who now live in the U.S. They live with daughters Angie and Julie in Miango, Nigeria, where Steve's skills as a dentist not only serve missionary families on the African continent, but also provide a great entre for sharing the gospel among Nigerian nationals.
Other missionaries FBF helps support are Jay and Judy Lynn Francis (SEND, Ukraine) and Bob and Jeanne Nelson, EFCA ReachGlobal, Philippines). We also help support two stateside ministries - the Southeast District of the EFCA, and Choices Resource Center in our own city of Oak Ridge.
